Kielder Water- Reservoir & Forest

It once supported an
iron works the remains of which can still be seen at the start of a sign posted
walk up Hareshaw Linn to view the waterfall which can be spectacular after a
heavy rainfall. Further up the North Tyne river is Kielder Castle which was once a hunting lodge of the Duke of Northumberland and now a forest information post and centre of tourism for Europe’s largest man made forest and reservoir. Wark
